fnatic have taken the lead over Natus Vincere in the grand final of DreamHack Summer 2012 with a 16-11 win on de_dust2. The teams will now move to the stage and the match will continue around 15:00 .
Fnatic and Natus Vincere are by many dubbed the two best teams in the world at this moment and their matchup in the grand final of DreamHack Summer 2012 testified to that opinion. Their most recent encounter was at the previous major tournament, Copenhagen Games, where they also played in the grand final, with fnatic coming out on top 28-25 on de_dust2.
A fierce battle was once again expected starting with de_dust2, only this time we were guaranteed to see at least two maps.
The Swedes opened up the match by winning the pistol round as CTs, and even though Na`Vi snapped back in the third round, fnatic increased their lead to 4-1.
But the Ukrainians' slow paced attacks proved fruitful eventually as they scored several rounds in a row to take a 5-4 lead. The following eco by fnatic surprisingly went their way to even the score, although largely thanks to the saved AWP by Michael "Friis" Jørgensen from the previous round.
However, Na`Vi guys weren't shaken and they went back up to 9-5 before letting fnatic taking the last round of the half.
Fnatic's offensive on de_dust2 has been impressive lately, especially against ESC Gaming earlier today, so a 6-9 deficit was nothing to worry about at this point. They started the second half brilliantly, winning five rounds in a row and taking an 11-9 lead.
Natus Vincere evened the result at 11-11, but the Swedes once again showed that they are in impressive shape as they won all the important rounds and quickly closed the map with a 16-11 score.
